The sensor has to fit inside the print
The most common custom-panel problem is a cover glass designed with a 5 mm printed border and a sensor that needs 7 mm of routing space. The result is either a wider border than the industrial designer wanted, or a dead zone at the edge.
We check this at drawing stage. Send the glass outline and the visible area; we come back with the minimum border your sensor needs, and if that conflicts with your design we say so before tooling starts — not after.
- Minimum border for a 10-point sensor: 6 mm
- Minimum border with an FPC exit on that edge: 9 mm
- Minimum distance from a drilled hole to the sensor edge: 3 mm
